Dear shareholders,
I hope you are well and keeping warm as this Arctic blast sweeps over us!
By way of an update, we are pleased to advise that significant progress has been made towards re-opening The Samson.
Exit arrangements have been agreed with George, whom we continue to wish well with his next venture. We anticipate taking vacant possession of the pub at the end of this month.
Thank you very much to those shareholders who volunteered for the tenant recruitment panel. The panel met recently with the prospective new tenant and both the panel, and the Management Committee, unanimously approved proceeding with them.
In addition, Heads of Terms for the lease have been agreed and solicitors have been instructed. However, there are some necessary legal formalities to conclude before we can share further details of the prospective new tenant.
All parties are working well together, positively and collaboratively, and hope to re-open The Samson in December.
On a different note, now that tangible progress has been made, we are pleased to announce the details of a Special Members’ Meeting of GCBSL.
Please find attached a formal notice, and proxy notice.
The salient points are summarised below:
We look forward to welcoming you on the 9th.
Best wishes,
Colin Mitchell
Secretary
GCBSL
